Title: Concept for IoT – based metrology station [full pdf]
Abstract: Heat stress in cattle results from the combination of several weather variables such as ambient temperature, relative humidity, solar radiation and wind speed. These factors can have a negative impact on both animal welfare and performance. It is known that the majority of cattle farming sites are located near or outside settlements. It is for this reason that the object of this paper is a concept for the implementation of an IoTbased metrology station, through which real time information on measured atmospheric parameters can be obtained, thereby counteracting the possible occurrence of heat stress in animals.
Keywords: Heat stress, metrology station, IoT.
